Addictions

"There is no person walking the face of the earth who demonstrates more courage, dignity, and integrity on a daily basis than an addict in recovery."

-Anonymous

As a Substance Abuse Counselor I have witnessed first hand the courage and determination it takes to face and overcome the demons of addiction and I have come to realize that the majority of those who suffer with addictions often have underlying unresolved issues they have worked diligently to avoid.

However, it's been my experience that without addressing and treating the underlying issues, a person is simply a ticking time bomb waiting for the next trigger to ignite the next phase of addiction or, worse yet, to drive them to a place of hopelessness and failure.

I have spent over 19 years of my career walking beside both adolescent and adult clients; out of the the darkness of addiction and into the light of hope and recovery.

In my private practice my focus is not on Outpatient or Intensive Outpatient treatment protocols and education that may be crucial for early recovery, but I explain and clarify concepts of treatment and 12-Step programs and address the personal beliefs and traumas that serve as barriers to the desired changes my clients desire. Individual, weekly sessions are most successful when done in addition to weekly treatment, or as a post treatment protocol to achieve the final changes necessary for lifetime of healthy relationships and fulfillment.
